YPP - CONFERENCES

2006 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium
in San Diego
(Oct. 29 - Nov. 4, 2006) |
You might remember my e-mails from past years. Here is another invitation to participate in the IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium, which this year will take place October 29 to November 4, 2006 in San Diego, California.
If you are spending time on hardware or hardware-related analysis or on simulation aspects of your experiment, you may consider showing your accomplishments at this conference. Especially for 'Young Particle Physicists' this is a good opportunity for a presentation (oral presentation or poster) at an international conference and get recognition for the hard work; the conference organizers told me that contributions from members of YPP are especially encouraged.
During last year's conference, again many particle physics experiments were represented: at least 62 abstracts of LHC experiments, at least 12 were on Fermilab experiments, 12 on the B-factories, and many others were on neutrino, cosmic ray, and satellite experiments as well as on research for the International Linear Collider. And numerous people reported on much more related research, on new detectors, electronics, simulation, and analysis.
To me, this conference is a great opportunity to present and hear about recent technical developments by the experiments that we are working on, from basic research on new types of detectors to the performance of the final experiments, from basic hardware to software analyzing the measurements.
Abstract submission continues to be open until May 19, Friday next week. For more details on the conference see the attached announcement, or check out the conference web site: http://www.nss-mic.org/2006.
